To Medical Coordinators
We recommend all patients to use Two-Step telemedicine to ensure eligibility for retinal regenerative therapy before medical tourism.
Retinal regenerative therapy is expected to cure various retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration and inherited retinal diseases, but is not applicable to every patient at the moment.
Eligibility for our retinal regenerative therapy is determined by detailed examinations after arrival in Japan.
Two-Step telemedicine aims to mitigate the risk of “Ineligible” decisions after medical tourism.
Preliminary screening by interview. If retinal cell therapy could be suitable to a patient, we recommend to proceed to Step 2. If other suitable treatments are available, we can refer a patient to collaborating ophthalmologists based on the patient’s condition.
*You can go to Step 2 if you want to see Dr. Masayo Takahashi, even though you know that your condition is less possible to be eligible for retinal regenerative therapy.
Consultation Doctor : Masayo Takahashi MD, PhD and Satoshi Nakadomari MD, PhD
